All Over The Place

Well, I set a brand new record for me this week. I was in 5 different airports and 5 different states in less than 24 hrs. I went from Charlotte to Atlanta to Pensacola to Dallas to Oklahoma City (my current location). Its been a LONNNG week but I’m going home to mama tomorrow! We spent a wonderful Easter weekend at home in NC. It was great to see our family and friends. I also met my new boss. He’s a cool guy, and I look forward to working with him. We also began our search for a house. Please pray with us that we find a place. I left Ashley Sunday afternoon (hated doing that) to fly back down to Pensacola to get unpacked and packed again to head out here. This is her last chance to travel before you-know-who arrives, so we made it a good trip. Did I mention I can’t wait to see her tomorrow? I should be in bed right now but the NBA Playoffs are way too good tonight…some great games on. So anyway, that’s my update for this week. Hope everyone is well!
God Bless,
Matt

Happening This Week!

Hey, ya’ll! Hope everything is well. I’m just sitting here in my living room watching my dog try to find some trouble to get into. We’ve had a busy week here in Pensacola. Some friends were down visiting during a big event here on campus. I’m glad it’s over, though! Whew! Now onto a week we’ve been looking forward to for months. We’re going home to see family for Easter weekend! We’ll fly out on Thursday afternoon and I’ll return to Pensacola Sunday night for a few hours rest before I have to go out to Oklahoma City the next morning. It will be my first time there, so I’m looking forward to it.

Please be in prayer for us in the coming weeks for us as we have some important things to work out while in NC. Pray that we have wisdom to make the right decision. For one, we have to find a place to LIVE! We’ve looked into some rentals and this weekend will be the time to check them out in person. I will be meeting my new boss, and I’m really excited about that as well.

I’m still booking churches and events for the fall of 2011, so if you’re looking for good music with an encouraging message, contact me! You can email me at gospelguy425@yahoo.com. I have booked several already, and I am thrilled at what God has in store for the future. God has placed in my heart a love for music and a desire to share it, so any and all chances to do this are a blessing.

Well, that’s about it for this week. I probably won’t be on for about a week and a half due to the travel schedule, so take care!

God Bless,

Matt

Weekend Happenings

Well, I made it back to Pensacola just in time to still be sick. My ears didn’t adjust until late last night, and the sore throat, stuffy nose, and all around “blah” feeling continued into today. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to give it my best tonight at Community Baptist Church in Pensacola, FL. But this afternoon, I took some time to play through a few songs, and get some chords down,  and I fought through it! I got all the way through the last song before feeling really dry and stopped up. Coincidentally, I also forgot some words on that song, too! I hate when I do that. All in all, it was a great service tonight and I’m ever grateful for the chance to share God’s love through music.

I thoroughly desire your prayers as we prepare to move back to NC in August. Easter weekend I will be in NC to nail down a few details with the new job, as well as scout out some living arrangements. I may even find some time in there to try Mom’s new pool at the house! I always look forward to being in NC for a couple days and our families always make it a special and memorable time.

Well, I believe I need to go to bed. I just realized I have headphones on my head out of habit, but have no music whatsoever playing. I’m sleepy.

Until Next Time,
Matt

This Week!

What a crazy couple weeks it had been! It seems like time flies by so fast when you’re not paying attention….or when you are paying attention for that matter. I can’t believe it’s April already. In just a few short months, our lives will change forever! We are excited and eager to meet our little girl, Bella, who is due July 24. Then shortly after July 29, we will make the move back to our hometown of Lenoir, NC to begin a totally new life. I can’t wait to be around our families again all the time. It will be special to see my little girl grow up around her grandparents and cousins (not to mention all the free babysitting). I am making this move because we feel God wants us there. God has opened the door for me to begin work as an agent with State Farm Insurance, as well as travel and sing on the weekends. Music is my ministry. I love getting behind the piano and just playing and singing for Him! My new schedule with State Farm will allow me to travel more and sing, which was an added blessing from the Lord! He knows our hearts’ desire. As it looks now, Ashley doesn’t have a job nailed down just yet, but we look to take care of that soon with the Lord’s help.

But…until that time comes, we must continue on here. We’ve both been a little sick this week, and I have to sing Sunday night here in Pensacola so hopefully I will feel better by then. Thursday, I will take off for Ft. Pierce, FL to be a part of a youth conference there. While I hate leaving Ash behind, I do enjoy these conferences.  She always finds some sort of trouble to get into while I’m gone 😉 .

I’m not exactly sure what I will usually post about on this blog. Probably whatever is hitting me right about then is what I’ll post. I hope to post my singing schedule as I travel more, as well as maybe a few videos and pics. I’ll share more of my love for music, particularly Gospel Music, as we go along, too. So until the next time…

In His Care,

Matt
